A 21 year old Benriach bottled at 46% ABV, combining peated and unpeated whisky matured for at least 21 years in four types of cask: sherry, bourbon, virgin oak and red wine. Sherry and bourbon casks make up the main part of the whisky.
The result has many layers of aroma, from fruity notes to heavier, smokier elements. The colour is honey gold. The nose is elegant, with fruit, honey and spice. The palate shows candied grape, cocoa and smoked pine nuts, and the finish brings caramelised pear, honey and a good smoky close.
