BenRiach – 25 Year Old The Twenty Five (70cl, 46%)

A 25 year old Speyside single malt from BenRiach, made from a combination of peated and unpeated spirit. It matured for at least twenty-five years in four cask types: sherry casks, bourbon barrels, virgin oak casks and Madeira wine casks. It is bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The whisky from each cask type is married together, and the Speyside smoke mellows over the long maturation to join the fruit, malt and oak. The nose has smoked apricot, dark cherry chocolate and hazelnut toffee. The palate brings baked fruit, toasted oak spice, orange and cinnamon, ending in a long, rich, caramelised smoke finish.
