This is a 27 year old Benriach from the 1996 vintage, bottled for the Milroy's Vintage Reserve range at 42.9% in a 70cl bottle. It is a single cask, matured in a refill hogshead, and it was produced while the distillery's floor maltings were still working.
The nose is grassy yet dessert-like, with poached pears, coconut, peanut, cashew, rich tea biscuits and a dusting of icing sugar. On the palate it turns richer, with profiteroles, red fruits and caramel in a brandy butter texture. The finish is medium to long, with rich oak.
