The Thirty is a BenRiach single malt matured for more than 30 years in a mix of sherry, bourbon, virgin oak and port casks. It is bottled at 46% ABV.
Rachel Barrie shaped it using 100% peated BenRiach, which makes it a smoky Speyside malt at this age. The whisky is close to mahogany in colour.
The nose brings dark fruit, honey, chocolate and raisins. The palate is deep and concentrated, leading to a long, complex finish of smoked honey, plums, baked oranges, smoked walnut, cinnamon and cocoa.
