Edition 002 is a 9-year-old Benriach, bottled at 58.7% ABV in a 35cl bottle. It spent 18 months of its maturation in a 40-year-old Pedro Ximénez demi-fût, a small sherry cask.
The colour is a deep gold. Raisins, dates, plums and blackberries mark the nose, with cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, vanilla and roasted nuts.
The palate is full and powerful, with dried fruit, spices, dark chocolate, sweet berries and orange marmalade. The finish is long, with the sweetness of dark fruit and spice, a little peat smoke and light bitterness.
