Smoke Season is a peated Speyside single malt from BenRiach, made in small quantities as a limited edition. It is a Double Cask Matured whisky, spending at least three years in both new toasted American oak casks and ex-bourbon casks.
The peat is a sweet, aromatic type made from fine woods, heather and bracken.
The nose brings smoky caramel, fine spices and citrus peel, with smoke and vanilla behind. The palate is rich and full-bodied, with peat, roast apple, almond, cinnamon, orange peel and vanilla, and the finish is very long, sweet and smoky.
