BenRiach Smoke Season is a peated Speyside single malt, bottled at 52.8% in a 70cl bottle. It was created to celebrate the peating season at the BenRiach distillery, and it brings a strongly smoky character to a region better known for sweeter, fruitier malts.
The barley was dried over Highland peat fire, and the whisky was matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and virgin oak casks. It is bottled without chill-filtration.
The nose offers smoke, vanilla, honey and burnt sugar. The palate is rich and structured, balancing creamy vanilla with peaty smoke. The finish is long, with caramel, cinnamon and toasted almond.
