BenRiach – The Smokey Twelve (75cl, 46%)

BenRiach The Smokey Twelve is a Speyside single malt matured for at least twelve years in three kinds of cask: bourbon barrels, sherry casks and Marsala wine casks. It is bottled at 46% in a 75cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The spirit combines peated and unpeated malt, which gives ripened fruit and aromatic smoke over warming oak spice. The Marsala casks add a rich, vinous sweetness. The whisky is burnished gold. The nose offers smoked vanilla, charred orange and toasted almond, the palate is creamy with dark chocolate, fruit peel, brown sugar and smoked oak, and the finish lingers with cocoa and orange-tinged smoke.
