Benriach – The Thirty 30 Year Old (46%)

Benriach The Thirty is a 30 year old single malt bottled at 46%. It is made from peated spirit and matured in four types of cask: sherry casks, bourbon barrels, virgin oak casks and port casks from the Douro Valley. The whisky from each cask type is married together after at least thirty years of maturation, during which the Speyside smoke softens and blends with the fruit, malt and oak. It is described as layered with dark fruits, rich walnut and velvety oak spice, ending in a long, complex finish of smoked honey.
