Benriach – The Twenty Five 25 Year Old (46%)

Benriach The Twenty Five is a 25 year old Speyside single malt bottled at 46% abv. It combines un-peated and peated spirit, matured for at least twenty five years in four types of cask: sherry casks, bourbon barrels, virgin oak casks and Madeira wine casks. The whisky from each cask type is married together, and the long maturation lets the Speyside smoke mellow and blend with the fruit, malt and oak. It is described as layered with baked fruit, honey malt and toasted oak spice, ending in a long, rich, caramelised smoke finish.
