BenRiach The Twenty One is a Speyside single malt aged for a minimum of 21 years and bottled at 46% ABV. It is non-chill filtered and takes its colour naturally from the casks.
Master Blender Rachel Barrie married unpeated and gently peated spirit, then matured it in four types of cask: ex-bourbon barrels, virgin oak casks, sherry casks and Bordeaux red wine casks.
In the official tasting notes, the nose offers berry fruit, orchard apple, wild honey, mountain oak spice and delicate sweet pine smoke. The palate has candied grape, rich cocoa, smoked pine nut and caramelised pear, and the finish is long and elegant with honey and smoke.
