This is a Benrinnes distilled in 2011, bottled by Signatory as number 12 in its Artist series. It is over 10 years old and bottled at 58.1% ABV.
It was matured in a first-fill sherry cask. The whisky is full and unctuous, with apricot and chocolate, mushroom and moss, and balsamic notes of cough sweet and pine.
Mocha, gingerbread and salted butter caramel follow, then chestnut and walnut alongside mango, banana and pineapple. The finish is very long.
