Benrinnes 21 Year Old is a Speyside single malt bottled at cask strength, 56.9% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in 1992 and bottled in 2014, in a limited edition of 2,892 bottles. Benrinnes uses partial triple distillation.
The nose has overripe plums, stewed pears and caramelised apple, with cinnamon, nutmeg, toffee and oak spice. The palate is dense and bold, with figs, dark fruits, dark toffee and caramel, and a touch of ginger and cocoa. The finish is long and evolving, sweet at first, then warming and peppery, ending dry with oak spice.
