Benromach – 21 Year Old (70cl, 43%)

This is a 21 year old Speyside single malt from Benromach, bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The whisky matured in a mix of 20% bourbon and 80% sherry casks. Benromach is made in Forres by a small team who have been reviving a fuller, lightly smoky Speyside style since 1998, using Highland peat, brewers yeast, long fermentations and first-fill casks only. It is described as showing Seville orange, baked apple, sweetness and spice, and it fades slowly with soft smoke.
