Benromach 21 Year Old is a Speyside single malt from Forres, on the north-west edge of Speyside, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. The distillery has worked since 1998 to revive a lost style of Speyside malt, full-bodied with a touch of smoke.
This bottling matured in first-fill bourbon and first-fill sherry casks, and no colour has been added. The distillery uses Highland peat, brewers yeast alongside distillers yeast, very long fermentations and only first-fill casks.
It is described as having Seville orange, baked apple, sweetness and spice, fading slowly into soft smoke.
