Benromach 35 Year Old is a Speyside single malt bottled at 43% ABV. It was matured entirely in first-fill sherry casks and released in two tranches in 2016 as part of the Benromach Heritage Collection.
The whisky was distilled in the early 1980s, before the distillery closed in 1983. It stayed silent until 1998, when Gordon & MacPhail brought it back to life.
The nose is orange marmalade and sherry with kiwi, grapefruit and cinnamon. The palate is sweet, with honey, fruitcake, banana and melon, followed by white chocolate and menthol. The finish is long, smooth and fruity.
