This is a 12 year old Speyside single malt from Benromach, distilled in 2014 and part of the Benromach Contrasts collection. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky was first matured in first-fill bourbon casks, then finished for 26 months in casks from Côte-Rôtie, the northern Rhône appellation known for Syrah-based red wines.
The wine finish adds dark berries, red fruit, spice and tannic richness to Benromach's fruity, malty and gently smoky spirit.
