Benromach – Contrasts: High Enzyme 2012/2024 1st Fill Bourbon Barrels (70cl)

Benromach Contrasts: High Enzyme is a Speyside single malt distilled in 2012 and matured in first-fill bourbon barrels. It comes from the Contrasts series, in which the distillery experiments with malts outside its usual style. It is made from unpeated barley with a high enzyme content, a type normally used for grain whisky. The higher enzymatic activity influences fermentation and gives a distinctive flavour profile. Fresh lemon sweets, green apple and peppermint meet honeycomb and pineapple, with roasted oak and peppery spice.
