Benromach – Organic 2013 (70cl)

Benromach Organic is a single malt made from certified organic barley, here in its 2013 release. Benromach is described as a pioneer of organic whisky, and the spirit is made with natural yeast. It matured in virgin American oak barrels that had not held anything before, which gives a full, robust character with a marked influence from the wood. The colour is a deep gold. The nose brings vanilla, honey and delicate spice, with a little nuttiness and a slightly grassy background. On the palate there is candied citrus and chocolate with toasted notes, leading to a persistent finish that is woody and sweetly spiced.
