Benromach Peat Smoke is a Speyside single malt, here the 2009 bottling, in a 750ml bottle. It was matured in ex-Bourbon casks.
The smoke is on the sweeter side rather than the medicinal one, closer to campfire smoke than to an Islay peat bog, and it sits alongside the vanilla from the ex-Bourbon wood.
Tasting notes mention soft stone fruits and sweet malted barley, with a robust, almost mealy mouthfeel followed by peat smoke.
