Benromach – Triple Distilled 2011 (70cl, 46%)

Benromach Triple Distilled 2011 is a Speyside single malt from the distillery's Contrasts range, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is a limited distillery bottling. The spirit was distilled in 2011, once through the wash still and twice through the spirit still, a departure from the distillery's usual double distillation. It matured for over ten years in first-fill bourbon barrels and was bottled in 2022. It is non-chill filtered. The nose offers vibrant tropical fruit, malt biscuit, vanilla pod and toasted oak. On the palate come ripe banana, poached pear, green apple and sweet honey, followed by a medium-bodied finish of citrus zest with a hint of soft smoke.
