Blue Hanger is a blended malt from Berry Bros & Rudd, and the 14th Edition is the first release in ten years. The blend is named after William 'Blue' Hanger, a well-dressed 18th-century customer whose palate inspired the original.
It combines malt whiskies of which the youngest is 26 years old. Seven casks went into the blend: six ex-Bourbon hogsheads and one ex-Sherry butt. It was bottled in limited quantities.
On the palate, milk chocolate and caramel lead into orchard fruit and baking spice.
