This is a 100-proof (50% ABV) blend of rye whiskey, Calvados and Armagnac from Bhakta Spirits of Vermont, in a 750ml bottle. The blend is 60% rye, 30% Calvados and 10% Armagnac, with components dating back to 1928.
The rye was distilled in 2018 from a mashbill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley, then double cask finished in virgin French oak. The Armagnac comes from vintages including 1928, 1941, 1962, 1973 and 1996.
The nose has custard, vanilla, green apple peel and chocolate-covered pecans. The palate offers caramel apple, pear tart, rye spice and dried fruit. The finish is long and gently tannic, with oak and baked orchard fruit.
