Bhakta 50 Year Old Brandy Barrel 18, named Rockefeller, is an Armagnac blend of eight vintages: 1868, 1897, 1939, 1941, 1955, 1963, 1965 and 1970. The youngest spirit is 50 years old. It comes in a 75cl bottle at 47% ABV.
The spirit is drawn from founder Raj Peter Bhakta's library of single-vintage Armagnac and is one of 38 single barrels in the Bhakta 50 collection. A brief finish in a Scotch Islay cask adds peat character.
The nose shows aged leather and smoky cigar lounges. The palate opens with peaty creosote, then turns floral and lightly spicy, with mulled fruit and roasted nuts. The finish lingers with peat and nutmeg.
