Bib & Tucker Double Char 6 Year Bourbon (75cl, 44%)

Bib & Tucker Double Char is a six-year-old Tennessee bourbon, bottled at 44% ABV in a 75cl bottle. The mashbill is reported at roughly 70% corn, 26% rye and 4% malted barley, and the spirit is charcoal-filtered through sugar maple before it goes into the barrel. After six years in charred new American oak, it spends a further five months in a second new barrel that has been heavily charred and smoked. That extra step adds smoke and oak depth. The nose offers white smoke, toasted oak and dulce de leche, with cinnamon bark, clove, mint and cherry. On the palate, vanilla and sugar maple come first under a light veil of smoke, then cinnamon, sweet corn and peppery rye. The finish is medium to long, with toasted oak, white smoke and vanilla.
