Bib & Tucker Double Char is a Tennessee bourbon bottled at 44% ABV, or 88 proof. It is aged for six years in new American oak, then for at least five months in a second, heavily charred barrel that is smoked with sugar maple, echoing the charcoal filtering tradition of Lincoln County.
The result is a subtly smoky, savoury take on the brand's classic bourbon, with baking spice and toasted sweetness.
The nose combines mint, vanilla, cinnamon and fresh timber with a hint of cherry. The palate opens with caramel and vanilla, then lively cinnamon and a crisp oak bite. The medium-length finish carries cherry, cinnamon, gentle minerality and lingering vanilla.
