Big Easy 5 Year is an American whiskey from a New Orleans brand, made from a bourbon-style mash of 81% corn, 15% rye and 4% barley. It was aged for five years, then infused with a blend of herbs, spices, botanicals and fruit inspired by an Old Fashioned. It is bottled at 43% ABV (86 proof) in a 75cl bottle.
Corn forms the core of the mash bill and rye adds spice, while the infusion broadens the flavour. It is not sold as a straight bourbon. The producer suggests drinking it over ice or in cocktails.
