Big Peat Cask Strength Christmas Edition is a blended malt made from Islay single malts, including Caol Ila, Ardbeg, Bowmore and Port Ellen. The Big Peat range began in 2009. This is the 2021 Christmas edition, with the Big Peat fisherman pictured on a sledge. It is bottled without reduction at cask strength, is non-chill-filtered and is of natural colour.
The nose brings marine peat with seaweed, salt and vanilla. On the palate there is peat smoke with ash and earth, set against a warm sweetness.
