Big Peat is a blended malt created by the independent bottler Douglas Laing. It is made from well-known Islay single malts, among them Bowmore, Caol Ila, Ardbeg and Port Ellen, together with two other malts from the south of the island. It is bottled as a small batch, non-chill-filtered, and was named best Scotch malt at the 2010 World Whiskies Awards. It is intended for lovers of peated whisky.
