Bird Dog Kentucky Straight Bourbon is made in Kentucky and comes in a 75cl bottle at 43% ABV (86 proof). Bird Dog is a Western Spirits Beverage Company brand based in Bowling Green, known for a flavoured whiskey line it launched in 2010, and this is its straight bourbon.
It pours a deep amber colour. The nose is toasted oak, buttery caramel and a hint of charred vanilla. On the palate there is toffee and caramelised sugar over a warm oak base, and the finish is smooth and balanced, with cinnamon and nutmeg.
