Black Bottle 10 Year Old is a blended Scotch whisky bottled at 40% vol. in a 70cl bottle. The blending recipe goes back to Gordon Graham.
It combines Islay malts, some of them quite smoky, with unpeated malts and ex-bourbon grain whisky. The blend is matured in medium and heavy charred casks, which bring sweetness, and in virgin oak casks, which add vanilla and a touch of coconut.
Ripe pear, green apple, biscuit and caramel are wrapped in peat and oak, finished with a pinch of sea salt.
