Black Bull 50 Year Old Sir Nick Faldo Edition is a blended Scotch whisky bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle. Sir Nick Faldo hand selected the casks, and Euan C. Shand, Chairman of Black Bull Co, blended them.
The whisky matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, and the release is limited to six hundred bottles.
On the nose it shows damsons, chocolate-covered cherries, caramel, cedarwood, Mediterranean flowers and blossom honey, with caramelised orange peel. The palate brings mouth-coating citrus, maple syrup on pancakes dusted with icing sugar, and a touch of cinnamon and spicy warmth. The finish is long, balancing fruit, spice and toasted oak.
