Black Market Rye Whiskey is a straight rye that joins Kentucky distilling with California craft. It was distilled at one of Kentucky's oldest heritage distilleries, then sent west to be proofed.
The mash bill is 95% rye and 5% malted barley, and the whiskey is aged for three years in charred oak barrels before being brought down to 45% ABV. It comes in a 75cl bottle.
The nose offers cracked pepper, caramel and toasted oak. On the palate there are layers of baking spice, dark honey and a hint of citrus zest, and the finish is warm, dry and spicy.
