This is the first release in The Wave, a series within Bladnoch's Master Distiller's Collection, bottled at 53.8% in a 70cl bottle. Each yearly release in the series highlights one of five principles of whisky making, and this first one is about time and maturation.
A 1,500-litre Amontillado sherry tun was filled with Bladnoch whiskies from the distillery's stocks, all matured in ex-bourbon casks, and combined with the fifth and final Waterfall release.
The outturn is 1,817 bottles, a nod to the year the distillery was founded. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring.
