Bladnoch Vinaya is a Lowland single malt at 46.7% ABV, and the first Bladnoch matured in a combination of first-fill ex-bourbon and first-fill ex-sherry casks. It is bottled without chill filtration or added colour.
The name is a Sanskrit word for respect and gratitude, chosen to honour the McClelland brothers who founded the distillery in 1817. Vinaya was created by Master Distiller Dr Nick Savage and belongs to the distillery's Classic Collection.
The nose is sweet floral grass and boiled sweets. Fresh green apples and chocolate with a hint of pepper lead the palate, and the finish is light and refreshing.
