This is a 25 year old Highland single malt from Blair Athol, bottled by Douglas Laing in its Xtra Old Particular series. It was distilled in August 1997 and bottled in April 2023 at a cask strength of 55.7%, in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky matured in a refill hogshead, which gave 273 bottles, and it has no added colour and has not been chill-filtered.
The nose offers crushed nuts, honey and milky cereal. The palate brings warming spice and a juicy, peppery sweetness, and the finish is soft, with herbal undertones and lingering vanilla.
