Blanton's Single Barrel Bourbon is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, bottled at 46.5% in a 750ml bottle. It was introduced in 1984 as the first commercially released single barrel bourbon.
Each bottle is filled from one hand-selected barrel aged in Warehouse H, with no batching or blending. The mash bill is the distillery's Mash Bill #2, reported as roughly 87.5% corn, 9% rye and 3.5% malted barley.
The nose offers buttery caramel, vanilla, citrus oils and baking spices, with honey and toasted oak. The palate is rich, with dark toffee, charred oak, orange zest, brown sugar and dark chocolate. The finish is long and warming, with toffee and cinnamon fading into oak.
