Blaum Bros. Distilling Co Straight Bourbon is a small-batch straight bourbon distilled and aged in Galena, Illinois, bottled at 50% in a 75cl bottle. The mashbill is 72% corn, 23% rye and 5% malted barley, and the spirit spends a minimum of four years in new charred oak barrels.
Each batch draws on just eight barrels, and the bourbon is non-chill-filtered.
The nose offers warm honey, roasted peach, apple and leather, with hickory smoke and vanilla behind. The palate is led by caramel, with roasted peanut, dried orange, clove, ginger and cinnamon. The finish is medium to long, with wood spice, nutmeg and a dry rye-bread note.
