Blue Run Glimmer Gin Barrel Finished Bourbon (75cl, 51.6%)

Blue Run Glimmer is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Blue Run Spirits of Georgetown, Kentucky, bottled at 51.6% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It was created by Shaylyn Gammon and released as a micro-batch of fewer than 90 cases. The finish is the unusual part. The bourbon rests in toasted and charred American oak barrels that previously held Barr Hill Tom Cat Gin, a Vermont gin made with juniper and raw honey, which had aged in them for seven to twelve months. The tasting notes give caramel and vanilla on the nose with juniper, soft pine, faint honey, and a touch of citrus and herb. The palate shows toffee and oak with piney, floral, gently sweet notes from the gin cask. The finish is long, with juniper spice.
