Blue Run High Rye is a small-batch Kentucky bourbon, bottled at 55.5% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It was distilled at Castle & Key in Frankfort under Jim Rutledge, the Bourbon Hall of Fame inductee and former Master Distiller at Four Roses.
The mashbill is 65% yellow corn, 30% rye and 5% malted barley, and the first batch came from 100 barrels. It won Platinum at the ASCOT Awards in 2024 and 2025.
The nose is caramel and toasted oak with baking spices, pralines, orange peel, cherry and a little tobacco leaf. The palate brings brown sugar, nuts, white pepper, stone fruit and dried apricot. The finish is long, with white tea, peach, clove, black pepper and toasted oak.
