Blue Run 'Reflection I' is the first release from the Blue Run brand: a small-batch Kentucky straight bourbon bottled at 47.5% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It was contract distilled by the Bourbon Hall of Famer Jim Rutledge at Castle & Key Distillery.
The bourbon was drawn from existing aging stocks, with 200 barrels handpicked for the release, and it was hand-bottled in Bardstown, Kentucky. It carries no age statement.
The nose is Rainier cherries and butterscotch. On the palate come pancakes, maple syrup, vanilla butter and rosemary. The finish is nutmeg and woody maple, with an echo of tart cherry.
