Bodega Norton Altura Malbec 2022 Mendoza (75cl, 14.5%)

Altura Malbec 2022 is a red wine from Bodega Norton, made by winemaker David Bonomi from Malbec grown at Los Chacayes in the Valle de Uco, Mendoza. The vineyard sits at 1,300 metres and was planted in 2001. Yields are very small, and the grapes are picked by hand in late April and sorted by hand on a conveyor. Malolactic fermentation takes place in small oak barrels, followed by time in small cement tanks. The wine then spends at least 12 months in small oak barrels, mostly French and all used once, and is held for six months in bottle before release. It is dense and rich, with a balance and a mineral thread that come from the altitude.
