Bollinger La Grande Année 2015 is a vintage Champagne, made only in years the house judges exceptional. The first fermentation takes place in small oak casks that average 20 years old, and the wine then ages in bottle under cork. A high proportion of Pinot Noir gives it power and body.
The grapes come only from Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards. Pinot Noir is drawn mainly from Aÿ and Verzenay, and Chardonnay from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Oiry.
The nose offers white flowers, citrus fruit and spice. The palate is deep and complex with a lightly creamy texture, and the finish is chalky and mineral with a touch of salt that lasts for minutes.
