Booker's Batch 2016-06 'Noe Hard Times' is a Kentucky straight bourbon from the Jim Beam Distillery in Clermont. It is bottled uncut and unfiltered at natural barrel proof, and the label gives an age of roughly six to eight years. It is the sixth release in the 2016 Booker's programme, an addition to the five standard named batches that year. The name refers to the hard early years of the Noe family in the bourbon industry, which shaped the values Booker Noe brought to his whiskey making. The nose is warm caramel, vanilla, toasted oak and baking spice. The palate is full and concentrated, with toffee, charred barrel, rye pepper and dark fruit, followed by a long, warming finish of barrel spice and sweet vanilla.
