A twelve-year-old single barrel Kentucky straight bourbon from Boone County Distilling Co. in Independence, Kentucky, drawn from the distillery's own Distillery Collection. Barrel BO578 was bottled at cask strength, 60.48% ABV (120.96 proof), without chill filtration.
The bourbon was sourced from MGP, with a mashbill of 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% malted barley.
The nose offers dark caramel, toasted oak, vanilla, baking spice and dried cherry. The palate is full and concentrated, with toffee, brown sugar, charred barrel and rye pepper. The finish is long and drying, oak-led, with lingering sweetness.
