This is a 12 year old single barrel Kentucky straight bourbon from Boone County Distilling Co. in Independence, Kentucky. Barrel BO513 was hand-selected by Bluegrass Hospitality Group and bottled at cask strength, 57.13% ABV (114.26 proof), without dilution or chill filtration.
The spirit was sourced from MGP in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, and has a mashbill of 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% malted barley.
The nose is rich caramel, toasted oak, vanilla, dried fruit and baking spice. The palate is dense and oily, with dark toffee, cinnamon, charred oak, candied nuts and leather. The finish is long and warming, with rye spice and sweet oak.
