This is a 12-year-old single barrel Kentucky straight bourbon from Boone County Distilling Co., drawn from Barrel B0531 of The Ghost Collection. It is bottled straight from the barrel at cask strength, 58.8% ABV (117.60 proof), without chill filtration, in a 75cl bottle.
Boone County was founded in 1833 and revived in 2015 under the motto "Made by Ghosts". The whiskey in this barrel was sourced from MGP and made from 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% malted barley.
The nose shows dark caramel, toasted oak, vanilla, baking spice and dried cherry. The palate is full-bodied, with toffee, charred wood, brown sugar and rye pepper. The finish is long and drying, led by oak with lingering sweetness.
