Boulard VSOP is a Calvados from Normandy, the apple-based spirit of the region. The house was founded in the late 1820s by Pierre-August Boulard and works from orchards in the Pays d'Auge, where over 120 apple varieties are selected for its Calvados.
It has a golden honey colour. The aromas are baked apple, vanilla, oak, warming spices and toasted nut. On the palate vanilla, wood and ripe apple sit in balance, reminiscent of shortbread and apple compote warmed with cinnamon and clove, with hints of pecan, orange peel and black pepper.
It can be sipped neat or used in a Side Car or Old Fashioned.
