Bowmore – 10 Year Old - The Devil's Casks is a single malt whisky from Bowmore (Islay). Aged 10 years, bottled at 56.9% ABV, 70cl. Founded in 1799, Bowmore is Islay's oldest licensed distillery, and home to one of the world's oldest Scotch maturation warehouses, the No.1 Vaults. Bowmore operated well throughout the years; however, their great reputation only came about when Wm & Jas. Mutter acquired the distillery in 1837. This led to Windsor Castle requesting a cask of Bowmore in 1841. In the early 1960s, Stanley P. Morrison acquired the distillery. This era saw the start of a great period in Bowmore's history; the mid-1960s bottlings are seen as being legendary. Now that Suntory has had full control since 1994, Bowmore continues to thrive to this day. This is Bowmore's first release of The Devil's Cask, a spellbinding potion of rich fruitcake, tarry chocolate and deliciously dark fruits. Aged for 10 years in first-fill sherry casks. This was bottled at a strength of 56.9% ABV and release as a small batch of around 6,000 bottles.
