Bowmore 12 Year Old is an Islay single malt from the Bowmore distillery. It was matured for twelve years in a mix of oak casks that previously held American bourbon and European sherry.
The whisky is golden amber in colour. Fresh lemon, heather honey and gentle smoke lead on the nose. The palate is creamy and fruity, with caramel and dark chocolate alongside Islay peat. The finish is long and slightly salty, with smoke that lingers.
